with a winter’s day that felt more like the start of spring, we wanted to pack in as much outside-time as we could. spent most of the afternoon at the playground, zip-lining, jungle-gym-climbing, and sand-digging. liam even found the courage somewhere deep inside to go down the slide by himself — something he never ever does. we actually had a hard time peeling him away from it when it was time to leave, if you can believe it. stopped by half-price books. picked up a count basie album on vinyl for aaron, series one and two of the office (uk) on dvd for me, and a book called “star stuff” about young carl sagan for liam. grabbed takeout at koko on the way home. popped ’round the library just before close, as always, and checked out about a million (okay, thirty) books. streetcar’d to insomnia cookies for a late night bite. plugged the twinkle lights in. curled up in bed with as many books as we could fit. read and read until our heavy eyelids begged for sleep.
