the first snowfall of the season arrived today, delivered to us just three days after christmas. the second we noticed the flurries begin to form, we rounded up layers and layers of our warmest winter gear and slipped ’em on. the whole of the city, or at the very least the bits that towered around us, was soon blanketed in glittering, white magic. when we finally stepped outside, the cold didn’t seem to bother liam one bit. it was a fight, honestly, to try and get him to keep his wool hat on for more than thirty seconds at a time. he stomped over every square inch of the courtyard, covering the fresh snow in his liam-size shoeprints, and swatted at every frosted bush, knocking the snow from the branches. the end of his nose and the tips of his fingers were beet red by the end of it, and he couldn’t stop himself from shaking, but he never once lost his shining smile. i almost had to drag the boy in, he was so enamoured with the life-size snow globe we found ourselves in.
